How to get an article published
For starters we have the final say over what the article will be about. We want to stay away from shamless plugs in the form of an article but we don't mind if the article gives solid info about Louisville Music, how the community can make Louisville Music better, tips for bands, venues or promoters, the article gives away free tickets or music etc. If your article idea genuenlly benifits Louisville Music then we are definatly game.
You will need to send us an email at This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it with "Article Request" in the subject line. The message should include your ideas for the article (optional), which option you want (see list below), your name, URLs, phone number.
For Venues/Promoters:
- Option 1: Provide 3 Music Industry Contacts, name, phone number, and kind words introducing us to them. (Venue Owners, Promoters, Respected Artist) We will give you an ad or article. (Only if it relates to Louisville Music). These contacts help us learn the Louisville Music scene and to network with the professionals who make the Louisville Music scene. These contacts help us create ideas to unite the Louisville Music scene.
- Option 2: Become a member in our forms. Start at least two topics and reply to 10 post. And we will give you an ad or article (Only if it relates to Louisville Music).
- Option 3: If you are a company offering a service or products that relate to Louisville Music, you may offer our visitors a discount on your services or deals on your products. For example your band could offer 1 for 2 at there next show (Sell two tickets get in free you can even use our shopping cart).
- Option 4: $50. This options will only get you and ad on The Local Sounds. However if you have an idea about an article that can genuinely be a benefit to Louisville Music, you can donate the $50 dollars toward the creation of the article (for photography cost, writers cost etc). For Bands:
- Option 1: You may post your shows on the show calendar for free. There is a wysiwyg editor on the entry form that allows you to format text, add pictures, tube style video, and mp3s. Write something compelling about the show you are adding. You entry will be reviewed if what you write is compelling, informational, interesting, or popular we will contact you for an article.
- Option 2: Become a member in our forms. Start at least two topics and reply to 10 post. And we will give you an ad or article (Only if it relates to Louisville Music).
- Option 3: Free passes to your show. We will either use the ticket to come to that show and do an article or give the tickets to one of our visitors that will actually wants to go to your show and get a hold of you seperatly to do an article.
- Option 4: Provide 3 Music Industry Contacts, name, phone number, and kind words introducing us to them. (Venue Owners, Promoters, Respected Artist) We will give you an ad or article. (Only if it relates to Louisville Music). These contacts help us learn the Louisville Music scene and to network with the professionals who make the Louisville Music scene. These contacts help us create ideas to unite the Louisville Music scene.
For Others
