  • All ages venue

You need to play a show at Skull Alley. It sort of reminds me of the old Pandamonium, a venue first bar second. I wish there were more places that cater to Louisville Music as opposed to louisville drunks. Im not saying that bar venues are bad for Louisville Music but as the How to Book a Gig article serries rolls along you'll see that many bars are a bar that happens to have a band on a stage. Venues that put the music first are a breath of fresh air.

Who does the band need to contact and how?

All booking is conducted via email to help us keep things straight. email us at This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it

What info should the band send?

We require bands to submit music for consideration, so a link to a myspace or sonicbirds EPK would be best. Obviously, include the name of your band and your general availability for shows or dates you are shooting for.

What genres of music are a good fit for your venue? / What genres are not a good fit?

We are open to all forms of ORIGINAL music that appeals to a younger audience. Unfortunately due to music licensing, we currently cannot host DJs or allow cover bands to play our space. Generally Indie/Metal/Punk does a bit better at our space than other types but we're open to try most anything.

What age groups are allowed at show at your venue?

We are an all ages club, with beer for the 21+ kids.

Does the band need a PA system?

no, we have a full house pa.

What does the band need to increase their chances at getting booked at your venue?

We're looking for bands with a few shows under their belt and an established draw mainly, but bands who promote themselves well and are always trying to get more people out to their events are definitely more appealing.

Thanks so much for this website--it's super helpful! I'm a touring singer/songwriter from Michigan and being able to look up so much info about each venue keeps me from having to send out a bunch of emails to venues that I really know almost nothing about. This site helps me decide which venues are most worth contacting. I wish there were more sites like this for other cities. Keep up the great work!

peace,
Dean

Thanks for the kind words, we'll keep posting articles you keep doin shows

Are these articles helping anyone? Should we keep doing them?

Is there any other questions we should be asking these venues?

What other venues should we talk to?
