When 1Justin Munsey of 7 Day Sun sent out a random message in the 502 boards asking "Does any one know of that guy who did the 21 questions thing?" I had to send him some questions to pick his brain a bit. Justin was very cool concidering my questions are a bit all over the place :)

So are they any good? You can decide for yourself over at their myspace www.myspace.com/7daysun. As for me well, they have my vote. You can really tell when an act has put a lot of hard work into their music, their art, their passion. 7 Day Sun has definately polished their sound and is definatly worth seeing live!

What is your bands name?

7 Day Sun

Who is in your band and what instruments do they play?

Trey Landrum - Vocals, Kevin Arnold - Guitar, Jeremy Nash - Bass, Jeremy McMahan - drums, Justin Munsey (me) - Guitar

What is your bands latest album and what were you trying to achieve with this album?

And The Shadows Will Fall Behind You" is the band's lastest release. We are just trying to get out there and get noticed.

What was the inspiration for your latest album?

The album we are set to record soon has just been inspired from EVERYWHERE. Adding a new guy to the band usally throws the "set" sound for a loop. Since I joined 7DS, we've been pumping out new tunes and such like clockwork. We've written slow strong power songs, and also faster heavier songs. Its been good times.

Describe your band's sound?

Anything from It Dies Today to Karnivool, to Deftones.

How long has your band been established?

5+ years

Which Louisville venues are your favorite to perform in and why?

Uncle Pleasants. The sound, the size.. everything is just right for an intimat and personal  setting. And its fun to play because its so easy to pack!

What Louisville artist do you have the most respect for today and why?

Kenny Russel. I've never been a "solo" lover. Kenny was/is a fucking god. I loved EVERYTHING he did, and his solos were amazing. Everything he wrote was golden. The man cheated death, and now has a happy family. Although he doesnt play in a band anymore, I still respect him more than anyone else.

Tell us about your bands first show, how was it, where was it, who was on the bill?

Ha. I played with SEN when I was about 14/15 in E-town at CC's pizza. The only other band on the bill was Inmate 42.. which featured Inner Blue's Dave Crabtree with a broken leg in a cast (I think?)

What self promotion techniques have worked best for your band?

Myspace and Facebook, of course.

What is your bands five year plan? Where do you see your band in five years?

Makin' Records!  Inside joke there. Uhm.. Hopefully still having fun? We like to hit the road on the weekends and play out of town.. I hope that never slows down. I hope we never stop moving forward as far as writing and recording. Gaining more fans would be a good goal too I suppose.

The first time I say 7 Day Sun live

What is the purpose of your music?

To have fun.

If you could collaborate with any Louisville artist who would it be and what would it be like?

Hmm. I'd love to work on some kind of project with Corey and Jordan from Artifex Pereo. It'd be siiiiiiiiick. Nick Houpt is also another person I've always wanted to work with. But I lack in the talent department to work with any of the three. Playing guitar for/with those guys would be like running a marathon with my hands. ALOT OF MOVEMENT! And I'm out of shape in more ways than one lol.

Describe your best performance, talk about the elements that made it such a good performance, like where it was who was there the emotion and the atmosphere etc?

My best performance was with Hanover on Thanksgiving (Gobblestock) at Phoenix Hill. The band featured Ivan Arnold, Savannah Hanover, Justin Tennison, Andy Garret, and myself. We played with Kittie, Flaw, and Hollywood Undead. The show was sold out an hour before doors opened and there was a line wrapped around Phoenix Hill. We got SO much good feedback.. couldn't get off stage because people were trying to get to us to sign shit.. it was nuts. It was the most  fun I've ever had.

Describe your worst performance and talk about what you learned from that performance?

Ahh the Tekworld days in a band I had called "Sadistik". Shit was fucking up.. people didnt remember songs.. it was terrible. What did I learn? Take your time before you try to rush out and play a show. Unless your goal is to just be f*cking terrible..
